Whether a component or a system is leak-tight depends on the application it is to be used in and the leak rate that is acceptable. Absolute leak-tight components and systems do not exist. A component is considered technically leak-tight if its leak rate remains below a value defined for this particular component.

PREVAC offers field leak testing, regular maintenance or complete rebuilding for many types of vacuum systems. To meet these special requirements we offer leak detection services for industry and UHV. We can test UHV components on a system with bakeout also. Test process is performed with work pressure in range 10^-6 ÷ 10^-9 mbar and using mass spectroscopy.

PREVAC also offer leak testing for industry components and whole production lines. Components can be tested in different ways:

On unit with work pressure in range 10^-1 ÷ 10^-3 mbar with accuracy up to 10^-12 mbar l/s
Small elements which are very important to be leak tight we can also test on UHV system
Elements that work on a pressure > 1 bar are tested with sniffer lines with accuracy 10^-7 mbar l/s
Larger systems or chambers are tested with portable leak detector with wireless remote controller with accuracy up to 10^-12 mbar l/s. If there are no vacuum pumps we offer also pumping system from 1.2 m³/h up to 7000 m³/h

We use mass spectrometers in-house or at customers site from small to large systems.
